In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon his Messenger Muhammad and his family and his companians and those who side with him and follow him on the right path until judgment day.
First thing to put in mind is that what is authentic is always dominant over what is not and what is proven is not like what is not proven. This is true in all aspects of life.
The shia with their horrible practices and believes and their animosity to the house hold of the prophet try to attach false allegation and small misconceptions to try to gain the weak hearts and minds of Muslims who are ignorant of the facts in the Quran and the Hadiths.
Because of their great hate towards Abu Baker the truthful the closest companion of the prophet who Allah mentioned in the Quran and Umar the Farooq (The separator between Right and Wrong in justice) as the Prophet peace be upon him called them may Allah be pleased with them they have mutilated our religion. Their whole religion is based on the claim that Ali may Allah be pleased with him is the rightful hare to the Prophet peace be upon him as if that’s what Islam is all about. Ali may Allah be pleased with him being khalifa! From there they went to extremism in Ali that reached to calling him God. And claiming that his son is above the throne. Astaghfur Allah.
A quick question off topic would be. If Ali may Allah be pleased with him was truly the rightful hare to the prophet peace be upon him why was he silent about it then?
Al hamdu lillah. Imam Ali was the fourth khalifa and when he was khalifa he killed and burned those who said that he was god and fought those who said that he was better than Abu Baker and Umar. He even named his sons Abu Bakr and Umar and so did his sons. The hadiths and prophecies of what to happened and happened are many but en sha'a Allah they are for another time.
So because of their great hate to those two great men Abu Baker and Umar may Allah be pleased with them. Who by the way the Prophet peace be upon him married their daughters. Aisha mother of the believer's daughter of Abu Baker and Hafsah mother of the believer's daughter of Umar bin al Khataab. They claim that the wives of the prophet peace be upon him poisoned the prophet peace be upon him. Just because they are the daughters of Abu Baker and Umar may Allah be pleased with them all. That is of course aside all the insults they throw at the wives of the man that they call their prophet. Also some of them declared takfeer on the wives of the prophet.
We will see who is closer to kuffur!
Now what do they say?
In the tafseer of the Surat Al-Imran aya 144
"Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude."
It is Narrated that Abu Abdullah Ja'ffar Al Sadiq said: "Do you know if the Prophet may the blessings of Allah be upon him and his family have died or was slain? Allah says 'If he died or were slain will ye then Turn back on your heels'. Thus he was poisoned before death. They (meaning Aisha and Hafsah) gave him poison". So we said "Both of them and (both of) their fathers are the worst of mankind".
This is found in Tafseer al-Ayashi 1/200, Tafseer al-Safi 1/305, Buhoor al Anwar 6/504.
And the wicked Majlisi says commenting on the above narration that "The Ayashi have narrated that with a significant "sanad" from Al Sadiq peace be upon him that Aisha and Hafsah may the curse of Allah be upon them and on their fathers killed the Apostle of Allah with poison" Hayat Al-Qoloob by al majlisi 2/700
That’s what al majlisi says may the curse of Allah be upon him.
Now al hamdu lillah that Allah have blessed us with real scholars that relay on evidence from the Quran and Sunna and ones that do not follow their desires. En sha'a Allah it will show what the shias are about and how they think and how shallow is their knowledge by simple comparison.
Indeed there was an attempt to poison the Prophet peace be upon him but it was 3 years before his death and the prophet peace be upon him have said on his deathbed that he feels the effects of that poison still.
*It is a fact that the person who tried to assassinate the Prophet peace be upon him was a Jewish woman at the time of the conquest of Khaibar
*and it is a fact that the prophet peace be upon him have mentioned the poison at his deathbed.
* and it is a fact that the prophet have stated that the poison that he feels is from the poison sheep that the Jewish woman have made.
Backed with SAHEEH Hadiths! So from where do the Shiites bring this nonsense about the prophet peace be upon him being poisoned by Aisha and Hafsah may Allah be pleased with them?
No where. It's just some bold claims they makeup out of ignorance and hate. The goal of those claims is to bring the attention of careless Muslims to other twisted little bits and pieces of misconceptions they makeup to mess up the heads of Muslims that are ignorant to evidences presented in the Quran and Sunnah. Knowing that not all Muslims will spend the time to verify those claims or double check them they seek to inject the Muslim Ummah with little doubts here and there to create a chance of potential supporters of their ideology.
The attempt to poison the prophet is a very famous story. That’s why most shiia scholars do not bring up the claim of Aisha and Hafsah poisoning the prophet for the lack of evidence and the clear proof that the prophet did not die of poisoning but that the poison which he was exposed to 3 years ago was a factor of his illness next to him having a death fever.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A Jewess brought a poisoned (cooked) sheep for the Prophet who ate from it. She was brought to the Prophet and he was asked, "Shall we kill her?" He said, "No." I continued to see the effect of the poison on the palate of the mouth of Allah's Apostle . (Book #47, Hadith #786)

Narrated Abu Huraira: When Khaibar was conquered, a (cooked) sheep containing poison, was given as a present to Allah's Apostle (Book #59, Hadith #551)

Narrated Ibn Abbas: 'Umar bin Al-Khattab used to let Ibn Abbas sit beside him, so 'AbdurRahman bin 'Auf said to 'Umar, "We have sons similar to him." 'Umar replied, "(I respect him) because of his status that you know." 'Umar then asked Ibn 'Abbas about the meaning of this Holy Verse:-- "When comes the help of Allah and the conquest of Mecca . . ." (110.1) Ibn 'Abbas replied, "That indicated the death of Allah's Apostle which Allah informed him of." 'Umar said, "I do not understand of it except what you understand." Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O 'Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison." (Book #59, Hadith #713)
Saheeh al Bukhari
Anas reported that a Jewess came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) with poisoned mutton and he took of that what had been brought to him (Allah's Messenger). (When the effect of this poison were felt by him) he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you. Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it. He (the narrator) said that they (the Companion's of the Holy Prophet) said: Should we not kill her? Thereupon he said: No. He (Anas) said: I felt (the affects of this poison) on the uvula of Allah's Messenger. (Book #026, Hadith #5430)
Anas b. Malik reported that a Jewess brought poisoned meat and then served it to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) (Book #026, Hadith #5431)
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: Ibn Shihab said: Jabir ibn Abdullah used to say that a Jewess from the inhabitants of khaybar poisoned a roasted sheep and presented it to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) who took its foreleg and ate from it. A group of his companions also ate with him. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then said: Take your hands away (from the food). The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then sent someone to the Jewess and he called her. He said to her: Have you poisoned this sheep? The Jewess replied: Who has informed you? He said: This foreleg which I have in my hand has informed me. She said: Yes. He said: What did you intend by it? She said: I thought if you were a prophet, it would not harm you; if you were not a prophet, we should rid ourselves of him (i.e. the Prophet). The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then forgave her, and did not punish her. But some of his companions who ate it, died. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) had himself cupped on his shoulder on account of that which he had eaten from the sheep. AbuHind cupped him with the horn and knife. He was a client of Banu Bayadah from the Ansar. (Book #39, Hadith #4495)
Narrated AbuSalamah: A Jewess presented a roasted sheep to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) at khaybar. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition like that of Jabir (No. 4495). He said: Then Bashir ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari died. He sent someone to call on the Jewess, and said to her (when she came): What motivated you to do the work you have done? He then mentioned the rest of the tradition similar to the one mentioned by Jabir (No. 4495). The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then ordered regarding her and she was killed. But he (AbuSalamah) did not mention the matter of cupping. (Book #39, Hadith #4496)
Narrated AbuSalamah: Muhammad ibn Amr said on the authority of AbuSalamah, and he did not mention the name of AbuHurayrah: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to accept presents but not alms (sadaqah). This version adds: So a Jewess presented him at khaybar with a roasted sheep which she had poisoned. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) ate of it and the people also ate. He then said: Take away your hands (from the food), for it has informed me that it is poisoned. Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari died. So he (the Prophet) sent for the Jewess (and said to her): What motivated you to do the work you have done? She said: If you were a prophet, it would not harm you; but if you were a king, I should rid the people of you. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then ordered regarding her and she was killed. He then said about the pain of which he died: I continued to feel pain from the morsel which I had eaten at khaybar. This is the time when it has cut off my aorta. (Book #39, Hadith #4498)
Narrated Umm Mubashshir: Umm Mubashshir said to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) during the sickness of which he died: What do you think about your illness, Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him)? I do not think about the illness of my son except the poisoned sheep of which he had eaten with you at khaybar. The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: And I do not think about my illness except that. This is the time when it cut off my aorta. (Book #39, Hadith #4499)
These are some of the hadiths (not all) about the event of the poisoning of the prophet.
Now regarding the Jewish woman. Her name is Zainab bint al Harith bin Salam the Israelite. It is said that she became Muslim after that she saw that the Prophet was informed of the poisoned meat and that the prophet have forgave her. It is said however that the Prophet peace be upon him ordered that she gets the Qassas for killing Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari. Some say Qassas was done on her and some say that the family of Bishr have forgave her as well.
Ibn Ishaq in the Seerah have said that the prophet peace be upon him died a Shaheed. So did Al-Baydhawi in his Tafseer that Allah have blessed the prophet that he dies a Shaheed Prophet. But Allah knows best.
Now in lengthy narrations of the story it is said that Zainab bint al Harith have asked which is the most favored part of a sheep to the prophet peace be upon him and she was told it was the foreleg so she poisoned it with a very strong poison and that Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari have chewed from it the same amount that the prophet chewed before he spat it out but Bishr ibn al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari have died and the prophet was not effected by it lethally which made Zainab convert to Islam.
Now the question is, Why did the poison take effect on the prophet after 3 years?
This is in the knowledge of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Allah says in the Noble Quran surat Al-Maeda verse 67
" O Messenger! Make known that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou wilt not have conveyed His message. Allah will protect thee from mankind. Lo! Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk."
In this verse Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells our beloved prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him to convey the message without worrying about his enemies for He All Mighty will protect him from mankind which is a promise from Allah.
We see the protection of Allah in many places in the Seerah of the Prophet peace be upon him. As the above example of the foreleg telling the Prophet peace be upon him that it is poisoned is just one example.
The Message was still not complete at the time of the poisoning attempt for the prophet peace be upon him died three full years after this incident. Those three years were among the most crucial periods of the Islamic message. In those three years after the incident was the conquest of Makkah and people began entering Allah's Religion in crowds and in it the messenger of Allah made pilgrimage which is known as the farewell pilgrimage (Hajjat al Wadaa) and in it the Sharia of Allah was completed.
And then came signs that point to the nearing end of the life of the Prophet peace be upon him before the time of his death illness while he was in the peak and height of the conquests and victories where he still didn’t suffer from the effects of the poison.
Among those signs is what came in aya 3 from Surat al Maeda
"…this day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…"
After this verse came no "Verses of Rulings" which are verses that contain Fiqh rulings and scholars have saw them to be around 500 verses. That verse contained the last Rulings.
Another sign is Surat Al-Nasr
"When comes the Help of Allah, and Victory,(1) And thou dost see the people enter Allah's Religion in crowds,(2) Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for His Forgiveness: For He is Oft-Returning (in Grace and Mercy).(3)"
This verse is a soft sign that the Prophet peace be upon him have conveyed the message, preformed the trust, gave advice to the Ummah and now he has to get ready for departure from this world in peace to the world of peace. Thus the Prophet peace be upon him would " Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for His Forgiveness" in all his prayers by saying "Subhanaka Allahuma Rabana wa beHamdika, Allahuma eghferli" meaning " How perfect You are O Allah, my Lord and I praise you. O Allah forgive me".
Another sign is what Fatimah the daughter of the prophet said about her father peace be upon him in a Hadith narrated by Aisha may Allah be pleased with them:
"The Prophet said.) 'Every year Gabriel used to revise the qur\'an with me once only, but this year he has done so twice. I think this portends my death"
(Book #56, Hadith #819) Sahih Bukhari
"She said that he (the Holy Prophet) told her: Gabriel used to recite the Qur'an to me once a year and for this year it was twice and so I perceived that my death had drawn near" (Book #031, Hadith #6005) Sahih Muslim
Also among the signs is what Abu Muwaihiba the mawla of the prophet peace be upon him said:
"The Prophet peace be upon him woke me one night and said "I was ordered to ask Allah to forgive the people of Baqea (a graveyard near Madina) so come with me" So I went with him peace be upon him and so he greeted them with the Salam and then said "How pleasant the situation you are in. Turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night has come." And then he said " I have been given the keys of all the treasures of the earth (or the keys of the earth) and eternity in it and then Paradise and I was given a choice between that or meeting my Lord and I chose meeting my Lord." And then he asked forgiveness for the people of Baqea and then he left. So then began his ailment in which he died".
Al-Musnad 3/488 and 489. Al-Darami 1/38. Abu Shaba 1/87 Al-Mujam Al-Kabeer by Al-Tabarani 22/346 and 347 and many others.
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Allah's Apostle sat on the pulpit and said, "Allah has given one of His Slaves the choice of receiving the splendor and luxury of the worldly life whatever he likes or to accept the good (of the Hereafter) which is with Allah. So he has chosen that good which is with Allah." On that Abu Bakr wept and said, "Our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you." We became astonished at this. The people said, "Look at this old man! Allah's Apostle talks about a Slave of Allah to whom He has given the option to choose either the splendor of this worldly life or the good which is with Him, while he says. 'our fathers and mothers be sacrifice(i for you." But it was Allah's Apostle who had been given option, and Abu Bakr knew it better than we. Allah's Apostle added, "No doubt, I am indebted to Abu Bakr more than to anybody else regarding both his companionship and his wealth. And if I had to take a Khalil from my followers, I would certainly have taken Abu Bakr, but the fraternity of Islam is. sufficient. Let no door (i.e. Khoukha) of the Mosque remain open, except the door of Abu Bakr." (Book #58, Hadith #244)
Narrated 'aisha: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "No prophet gets sick but he is given the choice to select either this world or the Hereafter." 'aisha added: During his fatal illness, his voice became very husky and I heard him saying: "In the company of those whom is the Grace of Allah, of the prophets, the Siddiqin (those followers of the prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them), the martyrs and the pious.' (4.69) And from this I came to know that he has been given the option. (Book #60, Hadith #110) Saheeh Al Bukhari
And many more evidences in a number of hadiths where the prophet would tell his companians that they might not be able to see him next year or that he started asking people if he owes them anything and that they should take it or if he have beaten someone that they should beat him in return so he peace be upon him can meet his Lord with a clean sheet.
From these evidences it is clear that the Prophet peace be upon him didn’t die suddenly because of poisoning or that he did not convey his message but his death was decreed and that his death came after he have conveyed the message of Allah.
So lets recap some points.
*There was an attempt at the Prophets life (peace be upon him) by poisoning.
*The attempt failed by a miracle from Allah.
*The Prophet knew that his time was near before his ailment in which he died
*The poison only took effect after the prophet had conveyed his message three years later.
*The Prophet peace be upon him points at the poisoning attempt by the Jewish woman several times as being a factor in his illness and on his deathbed and doesn’t accuse anyone else.
*The Prophet was given a choice between life and meeting his Lord.
*He peace be upon him chose his Lord.
Did he die because of the poison? Did he die because of something else? Is he a Shaheed because of the poison?
Only Allah All Mighty knows. These are the Hadiths in front of you.
